Adding a statement glass splashback is a great way to add personality and interest to your space. Glass splashbacks can be installed in a range of different locations the most common being kitchen. However, they are now finding their way into areas such as laundries, bathrooms and showers. Glass splashbacks are easy to clean and are available in an almost endless range of colours, prints and textures.
Glass splashbacks are typically 6mm toughened safety glass, which adheres to Australian building standards. There are a range of different types of glass that can be used including standard glass, which has a natural green tint, which is good for strong dark colours. Starphire glass, which is a low iron glass which eliminates the green tint and allows for more accurate colour matching for light, warm colours.
These two types of glass can be painted almost any colour in the world. Ask your designer, or the wonderful staff at Artisan concepts to help you choose a colour that will work with the rest of your space.
Mirrored splashbacks are another type of glass splashback that has become very popular. A great feature is they help open-up a space by bouncing light and reflections around the room. You can choose from either a silvery or bronze colour mirror.
A printed glass splashback means full colour, high resolution images, photographs, logos; whatever you desire can be printed directly onto glass. The process creates a sleek, superior, and importantly permanent finish.
The last type of glass splashback is slumped or textured glass that has been fired in a kiln to take on the patterns, textures or moulds beneath it. There is a collection of patterns which can be used for added interest or even custom create your own design.
